BioSystems Engineering Laboratory

BSEL uses an interdisciplinary approach to provide integrated in vitro/in silico platforms for translational applications in cell therapeutic biomanufacturing, mammalian and stem cell bioprocessing, tissue engineering of normal and abnormal hematopoiesis, and personalized anti-cancer treatment platforms.

BSEL is co-led by Prof Sakis Mantalaris (a bioprocess engineer) and Prof Nicki Panoskaltsis (a clinician-scientist) who founded BSEL in 2004 on the principles of interdisciplinary integrated research and training.
