Biography
I am currently serving as a Senior Bioinformatician at NIBRT, where I specialize in computational biology and bioinformatics. I hold a PhD in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI). My research focuses on integrating multi-omics datasets—genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics—to uncover the molecular mechanisms underlying cancer.
My goal is to identify novel therapeutic targets and develop personalized cancer treatments by leveraging advanced data analysis techniques. Through the integration of diverse biological data, I strive to enhance our understanding of cancer and contribute to the discovery of more effective therapies.
Before joining NIBRT, I worked at RCSI, where I conducted a comparative analysis of deeply phenotyped glioblastoma patients, specifically focusing on short- and long-term survivors.
Research Interests
• Multi-Omics Data Integration in Cancer Research: Developing and applying computational methods to integrate genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics data, aiming to uncover novel biomarkers and therapeutic targets in various cancer types.
• Machine Learning for Cancer Prognosis and Treatment: Utilizing machine learning algorithms to predict cancer outcomes, identify potential drug targets, and tailor personalized treatment strategies based on high-dimensional biological data.
• Network-Based Approaches in Cancer Biology: Investigating the complex molecular networks and pathways involved in cancer progression through the use of computational models and bioinformatics tools to identify key regulatory nodes and potential intervention points.
Personal Interests
Outside of work, Archita Biswas enjoys cooking and reading detective novels.
