Biography

I am an experienced analytical research scientist, project manager, and technical problem solver with over two decades of experience in research science. My expertise encompasses methods development and project organization. I have an in depth understanding of managing and participating in life science research projects. I have extensive technical expertise and since joining NIBRT in 2019 my research has been utilized in the publication of 15 peer reviewed journals. I excel in collaborative, multi-disciplinary team environments to deliver specific research objectives. Currently I am the lead Scientist for Professors Sakis Mantalaris and Nicki Panoskaltsis under the SFI Research Professorship program.

Research Interests

My previous research interests have been primarily focused on Glycomics. I have worked exploring both structure and function of glycosylation at mucosal surfaces. I have developed high throughput methods for analysing glycosphingolipids and free glycan oligosaccharides derived from human milk and more recently been involved in research that usesnovel lectin affinity resins to isolate specific monoclonal antibody glycoforms, which enhance downstream solid-state chemoenzymatic in vitro glycoengineering. As the team lead of the Bioprocess Systems Engineering team, I am responsible for both project management and overseeing all analytical aspects of the bioprocess systems engineering project. I have an extensive knowledge of the research environment here at NIBRT and I am passionate about contributing to a wider culture of research to promote critical thinking and scientific communication across the community.
